Learning about electricity

Fifth and sixth class pupils enjoyed some practical lessons relating to electricity, magnets, motors, resistors, fans, and much more. John Roddy generously shared his knowledge and expertise with the pupils. He also emphasised the dangers associated with electricity.

St. Brigid’s crosses

Fifth and sixth class pupils made St. Brigid’s crosses on February 1st to mark the feast of Ireland’s patroness. Mary Jordan demonstrated the technique and assisted the children with their efforts. Fr. Gavigan blessed the crosses later that week.

Athletics in Claremorris: November 2021

Sean-nós dancing with eimear Mulvey, November 2021

Eimear Mulvey from the ‘Bróga Bríomhar’ school of dance delivered a workshop on traditional Irish dance steps. Pupils had an opportunity to perform their steps on a barrel!

October 2021 Aistear: Halloween

Pupils in the Infant room explored Halloween themes as part of their October Aistear activities. They constructed haunted houses and created potions using lots of spooky ingredients!
