• The Aistear theme in Miss Burke’s classroom was; The Garden- Centre. Children had the opportunity of planting wildflower seeds and looking after the flowers as they began to grow. Gardening equipment was discussed and examined, with children identifying various implements and talking about their uses. In the construction area the pupils designed their own garden-centres and in the socio-dramatic area, role-played the garden-centre worker and customer. Children learned and recited the poem “Recipe Green”, which tied in very well with the theme. Spring has truly arrived in the Infant Classroom!
