Pupils in Kilmovee NS celebrated the Feast of St. Brigid on February 1st 2019 by making St. Brigid’s crosses. Local crafts person, Mrs Shirley Hunt, demonstrated the ancient art and the children wove their own crosses. It is believed that the ‘Cros Bríde’ protected homes from harm. St Brigid is also known as ‘Mary of the Gael’ and is Ireland’s female patron saint.
