Kilmovee NS began Catholic Schools Week by joining pupils, teachers and members of Boards of Management from Achonry diocese for a special mass in St. Nathy’s cathedral. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Vincent Sherlock who welcomed the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Jude Okolo. The Papal Nuncio addressed the packed congregation and announced that the new Bishop of Achonry would be Fr. Paul Dempsey (formerly parish priest of Newbridge, Co. Kildare.) This was a very significant moment and no doubt our pupils will remember the day of the announcement. We extend our good wishes to Bishop Dempsey as he begins his new ministry.
