There was huge excitement in the school today (December 19th), as pupils, staff and parents gathered for the annual Christmas raffle, All were bedecked in festive outfits and keeping their fingers crossed. Thanks to the generosity of parents and local sponsors, an impressive selection of prizes were on display, They included nine bountiful hampers, tins of biscuits and sweets, vouchers, jewellery, bottles of whiskey, cosmetics and two exquisite home baked cakes. As PA officers, Patricia Rush and Michelle Towey, concluded the draw, the faint sound of a ringing bell could be heard. To the amazement of all gathered…Santa Claus appeared complete with a sack full of goodies! After a little haggling and fun with Fr. Sherlock, Santa assured the children that they were all definitely on the ‘Nice’ list. This was a huge relief as Christmas is only six sleeps away! Santa’s little gift bags were distributed and the day’s excitement was over.
