School Newsletter – December 2016
- A Prayer Service was held for all pupils, to celebrate The Feast of The Immaculate Conception.
- Prize Winners in the Art Competition organised by Ballaghaderreen Credit Union were Caitlin Llongo and Oran Frain.
- Quiz Team-Tom Horan, Sean O’Dowd, Coilin Duffy and Caoimhe Duffy competed at the County Final of The Library Services Quiz in Roscommon, where they were successful in claiming the Title of County Champions after finishing first out of a total of eighteen. This is the fourth time that Kilmovee N.S has been victorious in this competition. The Whole School Community congratulates the pupils on this wonderful achievement.
- Niamh McDermott, Leah Dunney, Caoimhe Duffy, Anna Hughes and Amy Sharkey represented the school when they shared their musical talents at Kilmovee Community Concert.
- The Christmas Concert was a huge success with children displaying their talents through drama, music, song and dance. The pupils put a lot of work into their preparations for the big night, resulting in a very polished performance. The students also had lots of fun in the lead-up and everybody was hugely proud of their accomplishments on stage.
- The Aistear Theme in Mrs. Warde’s Classroom was; Christmas. Children created Santa’s Workshop in the Play Area, dressed up as elves and categorised boys’ and girls’ presents. They made a Christmas Wreath out of traced hand-prints along with snowmen using paper plates. In the Sand-Area they measured out ingredients for a Christmas cake and had the opportunity of using stencils to create Christmas scenes.
