- Dr. Celeste Ray, Professor of Anthropology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee visited the school and gave a talk to the pupils from Second to Sixth Class on the topic of Holy Wells in Ireland.
- The older boys and girls participated in the Mini-Sevens Gaelic Football Competition, with the boys being successful, winning the Local Area Semi-Final.
- The Halloween Sale of work was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and raised a total of €385. This money was spent on Christmas Annuals, buses and sports equipment.
- A number of pupils competed at the annual Cleary-Coyne Feis in Claremorris. Ewan Duffy was a prize winner in the singing competition, Grainne Hunt and Sinead Regan won medals in the traditional music section and successful in both singing and music was Aoibhínn Duffy.
- The Photographer made her annual visit to the school.
- Children from Second Class and upwards were invited by Bishop Brendan Kelly to draw pictures or write poems on the theme of Family Life in Ireland. Pupils’ work from the various schools in Achonry was displayed at the Diocesan Launch of the World Meeting of Families, in Charlestown CBD Sports Hall.
- Pupils participated in the Writing Competition organised by The Kenny/Naughton Committee in Aghamore. This year children were invited to write a short story or poem on “Having Fun in Bad Weather”. Winners in the poetry section were Amy Sharkey, Anna Hughes, Aoibhín Boyle, Ethan McCormack, Steven Rush and Nathan Duffy while successful in the short story section were, Liam Frain, Oran Frain and Emma Shiel.
- The pupils also took part in a colouring competition run in conjunction with the launch of the Kilkelly-Kilmovee Parish Magazine. In the competition for children aged 5-7 years, Cian Roddy claimed third prize, in the 8-11 section Oran Frain was awarded first prize and Aoibhínn Duffy won third prize in the category for 11-13 year olds.
